Context of Lamentations 3:24
22The Lord's faithful love never comes to an end. He never stops being kind to us. 23Every day, we can trust him to be kind again. We know that he will do what he has promised to do. ‘He is my Lord,’ I say to myself. ‘He is the reason why I can hope for good things.’ 25The Lord does good things for people who wait for him. He is kind to everyone who looks for him. 26It is good when people continue to hope. It is good when they quietly wait for the Lord, because he will save them.

- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 21-36Verses 21-36 Having stated his distress and temptation, the prophet shows how he was raised above it. Bad as things are, it is owing to the mercy of God that they are not worse. We should observe what makes for us, as well as what is against us.
