Context of Job 31:15
13When my servants complain against me, I have always been fair to them. 14If I had been cruel to them, God would be right to punish me. When God judges me, I would have no answer to excuse myself. God made me and he made my servants too. God brought us all to birth. 16I have never refused to help people who are poor. I have always helped widows to hope for good things. 17I have never kept all my food for myself. I have always shared it with children who have no family.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 15Did not he that made me - make him? - I know that God is the Judge of all; that all shall appear before him in that state where the king and his subject, the master and his slave, shall be on an equal footing, all civil distinctions being abolished for ever. If, then I had treated my slaves with injustice, how could I stand before the judgment-seat of God? I have treated others as I wish to be treated.Read the comment
