Context of Job 22:21
19God punishes wicked people. When righteous people see that happen, they are happy. Good people then laugh at wicked people. 20They say, “God has destroyed our enemies. He has burned all their valuable things in a fire.” So, Job, agree to accept God's ways. Have peace in your mind about him. Then you will again have good success. 22Listen to his teaching. Remember carefully what he tells you. 23Turn back to the Almighty God, so that you become strong again. Stop all the evil things that happen in your house.

Lay up or procure an interest now with him, and be at peace. Get the Divine favor, and then thou wilt be at peace with God, and have happiness in thy own soul. Thereby good shalt come unto thee - בהם bahem, "in them," shall good come unto thee. - Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 21-30Verses 21-30 The answer of Eliphaz wrongly implied that Job had hitherto not known God, and that prosperity in this life would follow his sincere conversion. The counsel Eliphaz here gives is good, though, as to Job, it was built upon a false supposition that he was a stranger and enemy to God. Let us beware of slandering our brethren; and if it be our lot to suffer in this manner, let us remember how Job was treated; yea, how Jesus was reviled, that we…Read the comment
