Context of Isaiah 29:24
22So this is what the Lord says to Jacob's descendants. He is the one who rescued Abraham. He says, ‘Jacob's descendants will no longer be ashamed. Their faces will show their shame no more. 23They will see that I have blessed them so that they have many children. Then they will agree that I am great. They will praise me, the Holy God of Jacob. They will respect me, Israel's God. At that time, people with minds that are confused will understand what is right. And people who like to complain will accept my teaching.’

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 24They also that erred in spirit - (see Isaiah 29:9-10). Shall learn doctrine - When” this would occur the prophet does not state. It “may” be intended to denote the times of Hezekiah; or the times subsequent to the captivity; or possibly it may refer to the times under the Messiah. All that the prophet teaches is, that at some future period in the history of the Jews, there would be such a reform that they should be regarded as the worthy descendants of…Read the comment

"Murmuring" was the characteristic of Israel's rebellion against God (Ex 16:8; Psa 106:25). This shall be so no more. Chastisements, and, in Horsley's view, the piety of the Gentiles provoking the Jews to holy jealousy (Ro 11:11, 14), shall then produce the desired effect.Read the comment
