Context of Ezekiel 7:2
1The Lord gave this message to me: ‘Son of man, this is what I, the Almighty Lord, say to the land of Israel: The end is now here! I will soon destroy the whole land. 3The time has come for your final punishment! You will know that I am very angry with you. I will punish you because of the bad way that you have lived. You will receive the punishment that you deserve for all the disgusting things that you have done. 4I will not be sorry for you. I will not be kind to you. I will punish you as you deserve. You have done disgusting things. So I will punish you and you will know that I am the Lord.

Commentaries on Ezekiel 7:2
- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 2An end, the end is come - Instead of הקץ בא קץ kets ba hakkets, one MS. of Kennicott's, one of De Rossi's, and one of my own, read הקץ בא בא קץ kets ba, ba hakkets,"The end cometh, come is the end." This reading is supported by all the ancient Versions, and is undoubtedly genuine. The end Cometh: the termination of the Jewish state is coming, and while I am speaking, it is come. The destruction is at the door. The later hand, who put the vowel points to…Read the comment
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 1-2As the prophet shared his message, the scope of the threatened judgment grew, like ripples from a stone in a pond. Now, the judgment was not just for Israel, as in Ezekiel 6, but for the entire land, east, west, north, and south. This global judgment on God's people would be like the end of the world. Judgment was no longer near, as in earlier messages. It had arrived.Read the comment
- Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 1-272. An end, the end--The indefinite "an" expresses the general fact of God bringing His long-suffering towards the whole of Judea to an end; "the," following, marks it as more definitely fixed (Am 8:2).Read the comment
