Context of Ezekiel 32:7
5I will put the meat of your body on the mountains. Your bones will fill the valleys. 6I will make the ground wet with your blood. It will pour out of you, up to the mountains. And it will fill the deep valleys. When I completely destroy you, I will cover the sky and make the stars become dark. I will cover the sun with a cloud. The moon will no longer give any light. 8I will make the sky over you become dark, with no lights in it. Your whole country will become dark. That is what the Almighty Lord says. 9When many other nations know that I have destroyed you, they will be afraid. Foreign nations that you do not know will be very upset.

- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 7-8As in the previous chapter, Pharaoh’s downfall would bring global darkness and widespread mourning. These images were often linked to the day of the Lord (see Joel 2:30). In this case, the darkness would also remind the Egyptians of the plague during the exodus (Exodus 10:21–22).Read the comment
- Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 77. put thee out--extinguish thy light (Job 18:5). Pharaoh is represented as a bright star, at the extinguishing of whose light in the political sky the whole heavenly host is shrouded in sympathetic darkness. Here, too, as in Eze 32:6, there is an allusion to the supernatural darkness sent formerly (Ex 10:21-23). The heavenly bodies are often made images of earthly dynasties (Is 13:10; Mt 24:29).Read the comment
