Context of Exodus 6:24
22The sons of Uzziel: Mishael, Elzaphan and Sithri. 23Aaron married Elisheba. She was the daughter of Amminadab and the sister of Nahshon. Elisheba's children were: Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar. The sons of Korah: Assir, Elkanah and Abiasaph. These were Korah's family clans. 25Aaron's son, Eleazar, married one of Putiel's daughters. Phinehas was their son. These were the leaders of the Levite family clans. 26This shows us the ancestors of Aaron and Moses. They were the men to whom the Lord spoke. He said to them, ‘Lead the Israelites out of Egypt. Lead them out in their families and clans, like an army.’

Moses returns to his narrative, and repeats the charge God had given him to deliver his message to Pharaoh, and his objection against it. Those who have spoken unadvisedly with their lips ought to reflect upon it with regret, as Moses seems to do here…Read the comment
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 20-25The list of ancestors now focuses on the descendants of Kohath. It gives more detail about two family lines: Aaron, the son of Amram, and Korah, the son of Izhar (6:23–24). It then names one of Aaron’s sons, Eleazar (6:25). The main focus is Aaron’s line through Eleazar, who later received the high priesthood. Aaron and Korah were cousins. This family connection helps explain why Aaron’s appointment as high priest caused strong resentment in Korah (see…Read the comment
