Context of Deuteronomy 10:14
12And now, Israel, what doth Jehovah thy God require of thee, but to fear Jehovah thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve Jehovah thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, 13to keep the commandments of Jehovah, and his statutes, which I command thee this day, for thy good? Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens belong to Jehovah thy God; the earth and all that is therein. 15Only, Jehovah took pleasure in thy fathers, to love them, and he chose their seed after them, [even] you, out of all the peoples, as it is this day. 16Circumcise then the foreskin of your heart, and stiffen your neck no more.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 14Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens - All these words in the original are in the plural number: השמים ושמי השמים הן hen hashshamayim, ushemey hashshamayim ; behold the heavens and the heavens of heavens. But what do they mean? To say that the first means the atmosphere, the second the planetary system, and the third the region of the blessed, is saying but very little in the way of explanation. The words were probably intended to point out the…Read the comment

We must love him, and delight in communion with him. We must walk in the ways in which he has appointed us to walk. We must serve him with all our heart and soul. What we do in his service we must do cheerfully, and with good will. We must keep his commandments. There is true honour and pleasure in obedience. We must give honour to God; and…Read the comment
