Context of Esther 6:13
11So Haman took the garment and the horse. He clothed Mordecai and paraded him through the city square, calling out before him, “This is what is done for the man the king wants to honor.” 12Then Mordecai returned to the King’s Gate, but Haman hurried off for home, mournful and with his head covered. Haman told his wife Zeresh and all his friends everything that had happened. His advisers and his wife Zeresh said to him, “Since Mordecai is Jewish, and you have begun to fall before him, you won’t overcome him, because your downfall is certain.” 14While they were still speaking with him, the king’s eunuchs arrived and rushed Haman to the banquet Esther had prepared.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 13But shalt surely fall before him - The Septuagint adds, ̔ ̔ ̔ ' , for the living God is with him. But this is a sentiment that could scarcely be expected to proceed from the mouth of heathens, such as these were.Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 12-14Verses 12-14 Mordecai was not puffed up with his honours, he returned to his place and the duty of it. Honour is well bestowed on those that do not think themselves above their business. But Haman could not bear it. What harm had it done him? But that will break a proud man's heart, which will not break a humble man's sleep. His doom was, out of this event, read to him by his wife and his friends. They plainly confessed that the Jews, though scattered…Read the comment
