11Chelub brother of Shuhah fathered Mehir, who was the father of Eshton. 12Eshton fathered Beth-rapha, Paseah, and Tehinnah the father of Irnahash. These were the men of Recah. Kenaz’s sons: Othniel and Seraiah. Othniel’s sons: Hathath and Meonothai. 14Meonothai fathered Ophrah, and Seraiah fathered Joab, the ancestor of those in the Craftsmen’s Valley, for they were craftsmen. 15The sons of Caleb son of Jephunneh: Iru, Elah, and Naam. Elah’s son: Kenaz.

The Kenizzites lived in the southern part of the land and had ties with Judah and Edom. Caleb, son of Jephunneh, was a Kenizzite (Numbers 32:12; Joshua 14:6) and had a brother named Kenaz (Joshua 15:17), whose family is listed here.Read the comment
