Context of 1 Chronicles 22:17
15You also have many workers: stonecutters, masons, carpenters, and people skilled in every kind of work 16in gold, silver, bronze, and iron — beyond number. Now begin the work, and may the Lord be with you.” Then David ordered all the leaders of Israel to help his son Solomon: 18“The Lord your God is with you, isn’t he? And hasn’t he given you rest on every side? For he has handed the land’s inhabitants over to me, and the land has been subdued before the Lord and his people. 19Now determine in your mind and heart to seek the Lord your God. Get started building the Lord God’s sanctuary so that you may bring the ark of the Lord’s covenant and the holy articles of God to the temple that is to be built for the name of the Lord.”

- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 17-19Verses 17-19 Whatever is done towards rendering the word of God generally known and attended to, is like bringing a stone, or an ingot of gold, towards erecting the temple. This should encourage us when we grieve that we do not see more fruit of our labours; much good may appear after our death, which we never thought of. Let us not then be weary of well doing.
