Context of Judges 18:10
8When the men returned to Zorah and Eshtaol, their brothers asked them, “What did you find?” 9They answered, “Come on, let us go up against them, for we have seen the land, and it is very good. Why would you fail to act? Do not hesitate to go there and take possession of the land! When you enter, you will come to an unsuspecting people and a spacious land, for God has delivered it into your hand. It is a place where nothing on earth is lacking.” 11So six hundred Danites departed from Zorah and Eshtaol, armed with weapons of war. 12They went up and camped at Kiriath-jearim in Judah. That is why the place west of Kiriath-jearim is called Mahaneh-dan to this day.

Commentaries on Judges 18:10
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 9-10The language is similar to the report after the mission to explore the land (Numbers 14:7–8; Deuteronomy 1:25), but the context is very different. Joshua and Caleb overcame their fear and acted with faith by remembering the Lord’s promise (compare Joshua 2:9, 24; 6:2; 10:19, 30). The Danite warriors asked for God’s blessing and saw the land's value, but their overconfidence contrasts with the strong faith of Joshua and Caleb.Read the comment
