Context of Jeremiah 15:14
12Can one break iron, even iron from the north, and brass? 13Thy substance and thy treasures will I give for a spoil without price, and that for all thy sins, even in all thy borders. And I will make them to pass with thine enemies into a land which thou knowest not; for a fire is kindled in mine anger, which shall burn upon you. 15O Jehovah, thou knowest; remember me, and visit me, and avenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in thy longsuffering: know that for thy sake I have suffered reproach. 16Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy words were unto me a joy and the rejoicing of my heart: for I am called by thy name, O Jehovah, God of hosts.

- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 10-14Verses 10-14 Jeremiah met with much contempt and reproach, when they ought to have blessed him, and God for him. It is a great and sufficient support to the people of God, that however troublesome their way may be, it shall be well with them in their latter end. God turns to the people. Shall the most hardy and vigorous of their efforts be able to contend with the counsel of God, or with the army of the Chaldeans? Let them hear their doom. The enemy will…Read the comment
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 13-14It is unclear if the Lord was speaking about Jeremiah's future or Judah's future. If about Jeremiah, this prediction came true after Jerusalem fell in 586 BC, when Jeremiah and Baruch were taken to Egypt against their will (see Jeremiah 41–44). If it refers to Judah's future, the prediction came true with the fall of Jerusalem and the Exile.Read the comment
