Context of Psalms 59:16
14They return at evening, they howl and snarl like dogs, And go [prowling] around the city. 15They wander around for food [to devour] And growl all night if they are not satisfied. But as for me, I will sing of Your mighty strength and power; Yes, I will sing joyfully of Your lovingkindness in the morning; For You have been my stronghold And a refuge in the day of my distress. 17To You, O [God] my strength, I will sing praises; For God is my stronghold [my refuge, my protector, my high tower], the God who shows me [steadfast] lovingkindness.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 16I will sing of thy power - For it was because thy hand was upon me for good, that I have thus succeeded in my enterprises. Yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy - I shall publish abroad what thou hast done; and done not for my worthiness, nor for the worthiness of the people; but for thy own mercy's sake.
