Context of Mark 1:40
38He replied, “Let us go on to the neighboring towns, so I may preach there also; that is why I came [from the Father].” 39So He went throughout Galilee, preaching [the gospel] in their synagogues and casting out demons. And a leper came to Him, begging Him and falling on his knees before Him, saying, “If You are willing, You are able to make me clean.” 41Moved with compassion [for his suffering], Jesus reached out with His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.” 42The leprosy left him immediately and he was cleansed [completely healed and restored to health].

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 40There came a leper - See the notes on Matthew 8:2, etc. Should any be inclined to preach on this cleansing of the leper, Mark is the best evangelist to take the account from, because he is more circumstantial than either Matthew or Luke. I. Consider this leper. He heard of Jesus and his miracles. He came to him for a cure, conscious of his disease. He earnestly besought him to grant the mercy he needed. He fell down on his knees, (with his face to the…Read the comment

Christ would…Read the comment
