Context of Lamentations 5:16
14Elders are gone from the gate, young men from their music. 15Joy has ceased in our hearts. Our dance has turned into mourning. The crown has fallen from our head. Oy to us, for we have sinned! 17Because of this our heart is faint, for these things our eyes are dim, 18for Mount Zion, which lies desolate, as jackals prowl over it.
