Context of Ezekiel 45:21
19The kohen will take some of the blood of the sin offering and put it upon the doorposts of the House and upon the four corners of the ledge of the altar and upon the posts of the gate of the inner court. 20So you will do on the seventh day of the month for everyone who sins unintentionally or through ignorance. So you will make atonement for the House. “In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, you will have the Passover, a feast of seven days when matzah will be eaten. 22On that day the prince will prepare a bull as a sin offering for himself and for all the people of the land. 23He will prepare a burnt offering to Adonai for the seven days of the feast—seven bulls and seven rams without blemish daily for seven days and a male goat daily for a sin offering.

Commentaries on Ezekiel 45:21
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 18-25Verses 18-25 This order of certain solemn services does not follow exactly the order of Moses, of Solomon, or of Ezra. The deviation can scarcely have been accidental, and furnishes a fresh indication that the whole vision is symbolic, representative of the times when, after the oblation of the one Sacrifice, reconciliation and sanctification were effected for man through the presence of God dwelling in the midst of the people. Ezekiel 45:18 In the first…Read the comment
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 21-25Like the offerings, the annual festivals in the new temple were meant to purify the people and the land. Instead of the three main festivals of the time of Moses (the feasts of Passover, Harvest, and Tabernacles), there were now only two. These two, Passover and Tabernacles, were almost the same and took place six months apart. The Passover festival still happened on the fourteenth day of the first month. It was similar to the earlier Passover in many…Read the comment
- Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 2121. As a new solemnity, the feast of consecration is to prepare for the passover; so the passover itself is to have different sacrifices from those of the Mosaic law. Instead of one ram and seven lambs for the daily burnt offering, there are to be seven bullocks and seven rams. So also whereas the feast of tabernacles had its own offerings, which diminished as the days of the feast advanced, here the same are appointed as on the passover. Thus it is…Read the comment
