Context of Exodus 29:39
37You are to make atonement for the altar for seven days, and so sanctify it. The altar will be most holy, and whatever touches it will become holy. 38“Now this is what you are to offer upon the altar: two one-year-old lambs, each day, continually. You are to offer one lamb in the morning and the other lamb at dusk. 40Offer along with the first lamb a tenth of an ephah of fine flour, mixed with a fourth of a hin of beaten oil, and a fourth of a hin of wine as a drink offering. 41The other lamb you are to offer at dusk, like the grain offering and drink offering of the morning, as a sweet aroma, an offering made by fire to Adonai.

- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 38-46Verses 38-46 A lamb was to be offered upon the altar every morning, and a lamb every evening. This typified the continual intercession which Christ ever lives to make for his church. Though he offered himself but once for all, that one offering thus becomes a continual offering. This also teaches us to offer to God the spiritual sacrifices of prayer and praise every day, morning and evening. Our daily devotions are the most needful of our daily works, and…Read the comment
