Joshua 24:19-28
19And JoshuaH3091 saidH559 to the peopleH5971, Ye cannotH3201 serveH5647 the LORDH3068: for he is an holyH6918 GodH430; he is a jealousH7072 GodH410; he will not forgiveH5375 your transgressionsH6588 nor your sinsH2403.1 20If ye forsakeH5800 the LORDH3068, and serveH5647 foreignH5236 godsH430, then he will turnH7725 and do you harmH7489, and consumeH3615 you, afterH310 that he hath done you goodH3190. 21And the peopleH5971 saidH559 to JoshuaH3091, Nay; but we will serveH5647 the LORDH3068. 22And JoshuaH3091 saidH559 to the peopleH5971, Ye are witnessesH5707 against yourselves that ye have chosenH977 you the LORDH3068, to serveH5647 him. And they saidH559, We are witnessesH5707. 23Now therefore put awayH5493, said he, the foreignH5236 godsH430 which are amongH7130 you, and inclineH5186 your heartH3824 to the LORDH3068 GodH430 of IsraelH3478. 24And the peopleH5971 saidH559 to JoshuaH3091, The LORDH3068 our GodH430 will we serveH5647, and his voiceH6963 will we obeyH8085. 25So JoshuaH3091 madeH3772 a covenantH1285 with the peopleH5971 that dayH3117, and setH7760 them a statuteH2706 and an ordinanceH4941 in ShechemH7927. 26And JoshuaH3091 wroteH3789 these wordsH1697 in the bookH5612 of the lawH8451 of GodH430, and tookH3947 a greatH1419 stoneH68, and set it upH6965 there under an oakH427, that was by the sanctuaryH4720 of the LORDH3068. 27And JoshuaH3091 saidH559 to all the peopleH5971, Behold, this stoneH68 shall be a witnessH5713 to us; for it hath heardH8085 all the wordsH561 of the LORDH3068 which he spokeH1696 to us: it shall be therefore a witnessH5713 to you, lest ye denyH3584 your GodH430. 28So JoshuaH3091 let the peopleH5971 departH7971, every manH376 to his inheritanceH5159.
