Genesis 19:4-23
4But before they lay downH7901, the menH582 of the cityH5892, even the menH582 of SodomH5467, surroundedH5437 the houseH1004, both oldH2205 and youngH5288, all the peopleH5971 from every quarterH7097: 5And they calledH7121 to LotH3876, and saidH559 to him, Where are the menH582 who came inH935 to thee this nightH3915? bring them outH3318 to us, that we may knowH3045 them. 6And LotH3876 went outH3318 at the doorH6607 to them, and shutH5462 the doorH1817 after himH310, 7And saidH559, I pray you, brethrenH251, do not so wickedlyH7489. 8Behold now, I have twoH8147 daughtersH1323 who have not knownH3045 manH376; let me, I pray you, bring them outH3318 to you, and doH6213 ye to them as is goodH2896 in your eyesH5869: only to theseH411 menH582 doH6213 nothingH408H1697; for therefore cameH935 they under the shadowH6738 of my roofH6982. 9And they saidH559, StandH5066 backH1973. And they saidH559 again, This oneH259 man came inH935 to sojournH1481, and he will needsH8199 be a judgeH8199: now will we deal worseH7489 with thee, than with them. And they pressedH6484 hardH3966 upon the manH376, LotH3876, and came nearH5066 to breakH7665 the doorH1817. 10But the menH582 put forthH7971 their handH3027, and pulledH935 LotH3876 into the houseH1004 to them, and shutH5462 the doorH1817. 11And they smoteH5221 the menH582 that were at the doorH6607 of the houseH1004 with blindnessH5575, both smallH6996 and greatH1419: so that they weariedH3811 themselves to findH4672 the doorH6607.
12And the menH582 saidH559 to LotH3876, Hast thou hereH6311 anyH4310 besides? son in lawH2860, and thy sonsH1121, and thy daughtersH1323, and whomeverH834 thou hast in the cityH5892, bring them outH3318 of this placeH4725: 13For weH587 will destroyH7843H853 this placeH4725, because the cry of themH6818 hast become greatH1431 beforeH854 the faceH6440 of the LORDH3068; and the LORDH3068 hath sentH7971 us to destroyH7843 it. 14And LotH3876 went outH3318, and spokeH1696 to his sons in lawH2860, who marriedH3947 his daughtersH1323, and saidH559, AriseH6965, depart fromH3318 this placeH4725; for the LORDH3068 will destroyH7843 this cityH5892. But he seemed toH5869 his sons in lawH2860 as one that mockedH6711.
15And whenH3644 the morningH7837 aroseH5927, then the angelsH4397 hastenedH213 LotH3876, sayingH559, AriseH6965, takeH3947 thy wifeH802, and thy twoH8147 daughtersH1323, who are hereH4672; lest thou be consumedH5595 in the iniquityH5771 of the cityH5892.12 16And while he lingeredH4102, the menH582 laid holdH2388 upon his handH3027, and upon the handH3027 of his wifeH802, and upon the handH3027 of his twoH8147 daughtersH1323; the LORDH3068 being mercifulH2551 to him: and they brought him forthH3318, and set himH3240 outside ofH2351 the cityH5892. 17And it came to pass, when they had brought them forthH3318 abroadH2351, that he saidH559, EscapeH4422 forH5921 thy lifeH5315; lookH5027 not behind theeH310, neither stayH5975 thou in all the plainH3603; escapeH4422 to the mountainH2022, lest thou be consumedH5595. 18And LotH3876 saidH559 to them, O, not so, my LordH113: 19Behold now, thy servantH5650 hath foundH4672 graceH2580 in thy sightH5869, and thou hast magnifiedH1431 thy mercyH2617, which thou hast shownH6213 to meH5978 in savingH2421 my lifeH5315; and I cannotH3201 escapeH4422 to the mountainH2022, lest some evilH7451 should takeH1692 me, and I dieH4191: 20Behold now, this cityH5892 is nearH7138 to fleeH5127 to, and itH1931 is a small oneH4705: O, let me escapeH4422 there, (is it not a small oneH4705?) and my soulH5315 shall liveH2421. 21And he saidH559 to him, SeeH2009, I have acceptedH5375 theeH6440 concerning this thingH1697 also, that I will not overthrowH2015 this cityH5892, for whichH834 thou hast spokenH1696.3 22HasteH4116 thee, escapeH4422 there; for I cannotH3201 doH6213 any thingH1697 till thou hast comeH935 there. Therefore the nameH8034 of the cityH5892 was calledH7121 ZoarH6820.4 23The sunH8121 had risenH3318 upon the earthH776 when LotH3876 enteredH935 into ZoarH6820.5
