2 Samuel 24:10-25
10And David’sH1732 heartH3820 smoteH5221 him afterH310 that he had numberedH5608 the peopleH5971. And DavidH1732 saidH559 to the LORDH3068, I have sinnedH2398 greatlyH3966 in what I have doneH6213: and now, I beseech thee, O LORDH3068, take awayH5674 the iniquityH5771 of thy servantH5650; for I have done veryH3966 foolishlyH5528. 11For when DavidH1732 had risenH6965 in the morningH1242, the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 came to the prophetH5030 GadH1410, David’sH1732 seerH2374, sayingH559, 12GoH1980 and sayH559 to DavidH1732, Thus saithH1696 the LORDH3068, I offerH5190 thee threeH7969 things ; chooseH977 thee oneH259 of them, that I may do it to theeH6213. 13So GadH1410 cameH935 to DavidH1732, and toldH5046 him, and saidH559 to him, Shall sevenH7651 yearsH8141 of famineH7458 comeH935 upon thee in thy landH776? or wilt thou fleeH5127 threeH7969 monthsH2320 beforeH6440 thy enemiesH6862, while they pursueH7291 thee? or that there be threeH7969 daysH3117’ pestilenceH1698 in thy landH776? now considerH3045, and seeH7200 what answerH1697 I shall returnH7725 to him that sentH7971 me. 14And DavidH1732 saidH559 to GadH1410, I am in deepH3966 distressH6887: let us fallH5307 now into the handH3027 of the LORDH3068; for his merciesH7356 are greatH7227: and let me not fallH5307 into the handH3027 of manH120.1 15So the LORDH3068 sentH5414 a pestilenceH1698 upon IsraelH3478 from the morningH1242 even to the timeH6256 appointedH4150: and there diedH4191 of the peopleH5971 from DanH1835 even to BeershebaH884 seventyH7657 thousandH505 menH376. 16And when the angelH4397 stretched outH7971 his handH3027 upon JerusalemH3389 to destroyH7843 it, the LORDH3068 repentedH5162 of the evilH7451, and saidH559 to the angelH4397 that destroyedH7843 the peopleH5971, It is enoughH7227: stayH7503 now thy handH3027. And the angelH4397 of the LORDH3068 was by the threshingplaceH1637 of AraunahH728 the JebusiteH2983.2 17And DavidH1732 spokeH559 to the LORDH3068 when he sawH7200 the angelH4397 that smoteH5221 the peopleH5971, and saidH559, Lo, I have sinnedH2398, and I have done wickedlyH5753: but these sheepH6629, what have they doneH6213? let thy handH3027, I pray thee, be against me, and against my father’sH1 houseH1004.
18And GadH1410 cameH935 that dayH3117 to DavidH1732, and saidH559 to him, Go upH5927, rearH6965 an altarH4196 to the LORDH3068 in the threshingfloorH1637 of AraunahH728 the JebusiteH2983.3 19And DavidH1732, according to the sayingH1697 of GadH1410, went upH5927 as the LORDH3068 commandedH6680. 20And AraunahH728 lookedH8259, and sawH7200 the kingH4428 and his servantsH5650 comingH5674 toward him: and AraunahH728 went outH3318, and bowedH7812 himself before the kingH4428 on his faceH639 upon the groundH776. 21And AraunahH728 saidH559, Why is my lordH113 the kingH4428 comeH935 to his servantH5650? And DavidH1732 saidH559, To buyH7069 the threshingfloorH1637 of thee, to buildH1129 an altarH4196 to the LORDH3068, that the plagueH4046 may be stayedH6113 from the peopleH5971. 22And AraunahH728 saidH559 to DavidH1732, Let my lordH113 the kingH4428 takeH3947 and offer upH5927 what seemeth goodH2896 to himH5869: beholdH7200, here are oxenH1241 for burnt sacrificeH5930, and threshing instrumentsH4173 and other instrumentsH3627 of the oxenH1241 for woodH6086. 23All these things did AraunahH728, as a kingH4428, giveH5414 to the kingH4428. And AraunahH728 saidH559 to the kingH4428, The LORDH3068 thy GodH430 acceptH7521 thee. 24And the kingH4428 saidH559 to AraunahH728, Nay; but I will surelyH7069 buyH7069 it of thee at a priceH4242: neither will I offerH5927 burnt offeringsH5930 to the LORDH3068 my GodH430 of that which doth cost me nothingH2600. So DavidH1732 boughtH7069 the threshingfloorH1637 and the oxenH1241 for fiftyH2572 shekelsH8255 of silverH3701. 25And DavidH1732 builtH1129 there an altarH4196 to the LORDH3068, and offeredH5927 burnt offeringsH5930 and peace offeringsH8002. So the LORDH3068 was entreatedH6279 for the landH776, and the plagueH4046 was stayedH6113 from IsraelH3478.
