Context of Hosea 13:6
4Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt; and thou shalt know no god but me, and beside me there is no saviour. 5I did know thee in the wilderness, in the land of great drought. According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted: therefore have they forgotten me. 7Therefore am I unto them as a lion: as a leopard will I watch by the way: 8I will meet them as a bear that is bereaved of her whelps, and will rend the caul of their heart: and there will I devour them like a lion; the wild beast shall tear them.

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 6According to their pasture, so were they filled - o“He implies that their way of being filled‘ was neither good nor praiseworthy, in that he says, they were filled according to their pastures.‘ What or of what kind were these “their pastures?” What they longed for, what they murmured for, and spoke evil of God. For instance, when they said, who wil give us flesh to eat? We remember the flesh which we did eat in Egypt freely. Our soul is dried up, because…Read the comment
