Joshua 23:6-13

6Be ye therefore veryH3966 courageousH2388 to keepH8104 and to doH6213 all that is writtenH3789 in the bookH5612 of the lawH8451 of MosesH4872, that ye turnH5493 not aside therefrom to the right handH3225 or to the leftH8040;

7That ye comeH935 not among these nationsH1471, these that remainH7604 among you; neither make mentionH2142 of the nameH8034 of their godsH430, nor cause to swearH7650 by them, neither serveH5647 them, nor bowH7812 yourselves unto them:

8But cleaveH1692 unto YhwhH3068 your GodH430, as ye have doneH6213 unto this dayH3117.1

9For YhwhH3068 hath driven outH3423 from beforeH6440 you greatH1419 nationsH1471 and strongH6099: but as for you, no manH376 hath been able to standH5975 beforeH6440 you unto this dayH3117.2

10OneH259 manH376 of you shall chaseH7291 a thousandH505: for YhwhH3068 your GodH430, he it is that fightethH3898 for you, as he hath promisedH1696 you.

11Take goodH3966 heedH8104 therefore unto yourselvesH5315, that ye loveH157 YhwhH3068 your GodH430.3

12Else if ye do in any wiseH7725 go backH7725, and cleaveH1692 unto the remnantH3499 of these nationsH1471, even these that remainH7604 among you, and shall make marriagesH2859 with them, and go inH935 unto them, and they to you:

13KnowH3045 for a certaintyH3045 that YhwhH3068 your GodH430 will no moreH3254 drive outH3423 any of these nationsH1471 from beforeH6440 you; but they shall be snaresH6341 and trapsH4170 unto you, and scourgesH7850 in your sidesH6654, and thornsH6796 in your eyesH5869, until ye perishH6 from off this goodH2896 landH127 which YhwhH3068 your GodH430 hath givenH5414 you.
