2 Samuel 17:5-13

5Then saidH559 AbsalomH53, CallH7121 now HushaiH2365 the ArchiteH757 also, and let us hearH8085 likewise what he saithH6310.1

6And when HushaiH2365 was comeH935 to AbsalomH53, AbsalomH53 spakeH559 unto him, sayingH559, AhithophelH302 hath spokenH1696 after this mannerH1697: shall we doH6213 after his sayingH1697? if not; speakH1696 thou.2

7And HushaiH2365 saidH559 unto AbsalomH53, The counselH6098 that AhithophelH302 hath givenH3289 is not goodH2896 at this timeH6471.3

8For, saidH559 HushaiH2365, thou knowestH3045 thy fatherH1 and his menH582, that they be mighty menH1368, and they be chafedH4751 in their mindsH5315, as a bearH1677 robbedH7909 of her whelps in the fieldH7704: and thy fatherH1 is a manH376 of warH4421, and will not lodgeH3885 with the peopleH5971.4

9Behold, he is hidH2244 now in someH259 pitH6354, or in someH259 other placeH4725: and it will come to pass, when some of them be overthrownH5307 at the firstH8462, that whosoeverH8085 hearethH8085 it will sayH559, There is a slaughterH4046 among the peopleH5971 that followH310 AbsalomH53.5

10And he also that is valiantH2428H1121, whose heartH3820 is as the heartH3820 of a lionH738, shall utterlyH4549 meltH4549: for all IsraelH3478 knowethH3045 that thy fatherH1 is a mighty manH1368, and they which be with him are valiantH2428 menH1121.

11Therefore I counselH3289 that all IsraelH3478 be generallyH622 gatheredH622 unto thee, from DanH1835 even to Beer–shebaH884, as the sandH2344 that is by the seaH3220 for multitudeH7230; and that thou goH1980 to battleH7128 in thine own personH6440.6

12So shall we comeH935 upon him in someH259 placeH4725 where he shall be foundH4672, and we will lightH5168 upon him as the dewH2919 fallethH5307 on the groundH127: and of him and of all the menH582 that are with him there shall not be leftH3498 so much asH1571 oneH259.

13Moreover, ifH518 he be gottenH622 into a cityH5892, then shall all IsraelH3478 bringH5375 ropesH2256 to that cityH5892, and we will drawH5498 it into the riverH5158, until there be not oneH1571 small stoneH6872 foundH4672 there.
