Revised Literal Translation
2 Chronicles 29:3-11
3He in the firstH7223 yearH8141 of his reignH4427, in the firstH7223 monthH2320, openedH6605 the doorsH1817 of the houseH1004 of YhwhH3068, and repairedH2388 them. 4And he brought inH935 the priestsH3548 and the LevitesH3881, and gathered them togetherH622 into the eastH4217 streetH7339, 5And saidH559 unto them, HearH8085 me, ye LevitesH3881, sanctifyH6942 now yourselves, and sanctifyH6942 the houseH1004 of YhwhH3068 GodH430 of your fathersH1, and carry forthH3318 the filthinessH5079 out of the holyH6944 place. 6For our fathersH1 have trespassedH4603, and doneH6213 that which was evilH7451 in the eyesH5869 of YhwhH3068 our GodH430, and have forsakenH5800 him, and have turned awayH5437 their facesH6440 from the habitationH4908 of YhwhH3068, and turnedH5414 their backsH6203.1 7Also they have shut upH5462 the doorsH1817 of the porchH197, and put outH3518 the lampsH5216, and have not burnedH6999 incenseH7004 nor offeredH5927 burnt offeringsH5930 in the holyH6944 place unto the GodH430 of IsraelH3478. 8Wherefore the wrathH7110 of YhwhH3068 was upon JudahH3063 and JerusalemH3389, and he hath deliveredH5414 them to troubleH2113H2189, to astonishmentH8047, and to hissingH8322, as ye seeH7200 with your eyesH5869.2 9For, lo, our fathersH1 have fallenH5307 by the swordH2719, and our sonsH1121 and our daughtersH1323 and our wivesH802 are in captivityH7628 for this. 10Now it is in mine heartH3824 to makeH3772 a covenantH1285 with YhwhH3068 GodH430 of IsraelH3478, that his fierceH2740 wrathH639 may turn awayH7725 from us. 11My sonsH1121, be not now negligentH7952: for YhwhH3068 hath chosenH977 you to standH5975 beforeH6440 him, to serveH8334 him, and that ye should ministerH8334 unto him, and burn incenseH6999.34
