Context of Jeremiah 15:6
4Because of the wicked things Manasseh son of Hezekiah, king of Judah, did in Jerusalem, I will make my people an object of horror to all the kingdoms of the earth. 5“Who will feel sorry for you, Jerusalem? Who will weep for you? Who will even bother to ask how you are? You have abandoned me and turned your back on me,” says the Lord. “Therefore, I will raise my fist to destroy you. I am tired of always giving you another chance. 7I will winnow you like grain at the gates of your cities and take away the children you hold dear. I will destroy my own people, because they refuse to change their evil ways. 8There will be more widows than the grains of sand on the seashore. At noontime I will bring a destroyer against the mothers of young men. I will cause anguish and terror to come upon them suddenly.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 6I am weary with repenting - With repeatedly changing my purpose. I have often, after purposing to punish, showed them mercy. I will do it no longer; it is useless. I took them often at their promise, and in every instance they have failed.Read the comment
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 6This verse gives the reason of the refusal of Yahweh to hear the prophet‘s intercession. The punishment due has been delayed unto wearisomeness, and this seeming failure of justice has made Judah withdraw further from God.Read the comment
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 6-7The people heard the accusation that they had abandoned God and turned away from him before (Jeremiah 2:13), but they did not take it seriously. - Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 66. weary with repenting--(Ho 13:14; 11:8). I have so often repented of the evil that I threatened (Jr 26:19; Ex 32:14; 1Ch 21:15), and have spared them, without My forbearance moving them to repentance, that I will not again change My purpose (God speaking in condescension to human modes of thought), but will take vengeance on them now.Read the comment
