Context of Psalms 78:30
28And He let them fall in the midst of their camp, All around their dwellings. 29So they ate and were well filled, For He gave them their own desire. They were not deprived of their craving; But while their food was still in their mouths, 31The wrath of God came against them, And slew the stoutest of them, And struck down the choice men of Israel. 32In spite of this they still sinned, And did not believe in His wondrous works.

The word “lusts” here means “desires, wishes.” It is not used here in the restricted sense in which it is now with us. The reference is to their desire for food different from manna - for flesh; and the idea is, that they did not…Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 9-39Verses 9-39 Sin dispirits men, and takes away the heart. Forgetfulness of God's works is the cause of disobedience to his laws.
