Context of Psalms 37:38
36Yet he passed away, and behold, he was no more; Indeed I sought him, but he could not be found. 37Mark the blameless man, and observe the upright; For the future of that man is peace. But the transgressors shall be destroyed together; The future of the wicked shall be cut off. 39But the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; He is their strength in the time of trouble. 40And the Lord shall help them and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked, And save them, Because they trust in Him.

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 38But the transgressors - Sinners; violators of the law of God. Shall be destroyed together - The word “together” here - יחדּו yachedâh - means properly “a union of them;” then, together - either: (a) in one place, Genesis 13:6 - or (b) at one time, Psalm 4:8; or (c) all as one, Psalm 14:3 - or (d) mutually with one another, as when men strive together, Deuteronomy 25:11. The idea here is, that one would be destroyed as well as another; that there would be…Read the comment

The contrast between the godly and the wicked highlights the uselessness of foolishness (Psalm 37:12–24, 27–33). The psalmist's…Read the comment
