Context of Micah 2:8
6“Do not prattle,” you say to those who prophesy. So they shall not prophesy to you; They shall not return insult for insult. 7You who are named the house of Jacob: “Is the Spirit of the Lord restricted? Are these His doings? Do not My words do good To him who walks uprightly? “Lately My people have risen up as an enemy— You pull off the robe with the garment From those who trust you, as they pass by, Like men returned from war. 9The women of My people you cast out From their pleasant houses; From their children You have taken away My glory forever. 10“Arise and depart, For this is not your rest; Because it is defiled, it shall destroy, Yes, with utter destruction.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 8My people is risen up as an enemy - Ye are not only opposed to me, but ye are enemies to each other. Ye rob and spoil each other. Ye plunder the peaceable passenger; depriving him both of his upper and under garment; ye pull off the robe from those who, far from being spoilers themselves, are averse from war.Read the comment

God became not their enemy, but they arose as one man, - “is risen up,” the whole of it, as His. In Him they might have had peace and joy and assured…Read the comment
