Context of Ezekiel 41:22
20From the floor to the space above the door, and on the wall of the sanctuary, cherubim and palm trees were carved. 21The doorposts of the temple were square, as was the front of the sanctuary; their appearance was similar. The altar was of wood, three cubits high, and its length two cubits. Its corners, its length, and its sides were of wood; and he said to me, “This is the table that is before the Lord.” 23The temple and the sanctuary had two doors. 24The doors had two panels apiece, two folding panels: two panels for one door and two panels for the other door.

- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 22The only piece of furniture was a wooden altar, the table that stands in the Lord’s presence. This is likely where the priests daily placed the bread of the presence before the Lord (Exodus 25:30). Describing this table as an altar emphasizes the focus on sacrifice in Ezekiel’s temple.Read the comment
- Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 2222. table ... before the Lord--the altar of incense (Eze 44:16). At it, not at the table of showbread, the priests daily ministered. It stood in front of the veil, and is therefore said to be "before the Lord." It is called a table, as being that at which the Lord will take delight in His people, as at a feast. Hence its dimensions are larger than that of old--three cubits high, two broad, instead of two and one.Read the comment
