Context of Jeremiah 18:23
21So give their children over to famine; hand them over to the power of the sword. Let their wives be made childless and widows; let their men be put to death, their young men slain by the sword in battle. 22Let a cry be heard from their houses when you suddenly bring invaders against them, for they have dug a pit to capture me and have hidden snares for my feet. But you, Lord, know all their plots to kill me. Do not forgive their crimes or blot out their sins from your sight. Let them be overthrown before you; deal with them in the time of your anger.

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 23Yet, Lord - Better, But, Lord. They conceal their plots, but God knows, and therefore must punish. Neither blot out - Or, “blot not out their sin from before Thy face that they may be made to stumble before Thee.” Thus - Omit this word. Since there is an acceptable time and a day of salvation, so there is a time of anger, and Jeremiah‘s prayer is that God would deal with his enemies at such a time, and when therefore no mercy would be shown.
