Context of Isaiah 22:6
4Therefore I said, “Turn away from me; let me weep bitterly. Do not try to console me over the destruction of my people.” 5The Lord, the Lord Almighty, has a day of tumult and trampling and terror in the Valley of Vision, a day of battering down walls and of crying out to the mountains. Elam takes up the quiver, with her charioteers and horses; Kir uncovers the shield. 7Your choicest valleys are full of chariots, and horsemen are posted at the city gates. 8The Lord stripped away the defenses of Judah, and you looked in that day to the weapons in the Palace of the Forest.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 6Chariots of men "The Syriac" - It is not easy to say what אדם רכב recheb adam, a chariot of men, can mean. It seems by the form of the sentence, which consists of three members, the first and the third mentioning a particular people, that the second should do so likewise. Thus ופרשים ארם ברכב berecheb aram uparashim, "with chariots the Syrian, and with horsemen:" the similitude of the letters ד daleth and ר resh is so great, and the mistakes arising from…Read the comment
