Context of Ezekiel 43:10
8When they placed their threshold by my threshold and their doorpost by my doorpost, with only the wall between me and them, they profaned my holy name by the abominable deeds they committed. So I consumed them in my anger. 9Now they must put away their spiritual prostitution and the pillars of their kings far from me, and then I will live among them forever. “As for you, son of man, describe the temple to the house of Israel, so that they will be ashamed of their sins and measure the pattern. 11When they are ashamed of all that they have done, make known to them the design of the temple, its pattern, its exits and entrances, and its whole design – all its statutes, its entire design, and all its laws; write it all down in their sight, so that they may observe its entire design and all its statutes and do them. 12“This is the law of the temple: The entire area on top of the mountain all around will be most holy. Indeed, this is the law of the temple.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 10Show the house to the house of Israel - Show them this holy house where the holy God dwells, that they may be ashamed of their iniquities. Their name, their profession, their temple, their religious services, all bound them to a holy life; all within them, all without them, should have been holiness unto the Lord. But alas! they have been bound by no ties, and they have sinned against all their obligations; nevertheless, let them measure the pattern, let…Read the comment

- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 10-11At this point, God explained the purpose of the temple vision. Ezekiel was not the first person to receive a detailed plan for a sanctuary from God (see Exodus 25–40). This vision was not meant to begin a future building project after the people returned to their land. Instead, it was a message for the people living in Ezekiel’s own time. As they carefully studied the plan of the temple, they were meant to recognize their sin. They were to feel deep…Read the comment
