Context of Psalms 119:81
79Let those who fear you turn to me so that they can come to know your written instructions. 80Let my heart be filled with integrity in regard to your laws so that I will not be put to shame. My soul is weak from waiting for you to save me. My hope is based on your word. 82My eyes have become strained from looking for your promise. I ask, “When will you comfort me?” 83Although I have become like a shriveled and dried out wineskin, I have not forgotten your laws.

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 81My soul fainteth for thy salvation - The new division of the psalm, which begins here, is indicated by the Hebrew letter Kaph (כ k ), equivalent to “k” or “c” (hard). He was become like a leathern bottle, which, if hung up in the smoke, is dried and shrivelled up. We must ever be mindful of God's statutes. The days of the believer's mourning shall be ended; they are but for a…Read the comment
