Context of Psalms 107:24

22Let them bring songs of thanksgiving as their sacrifice. Let them tell in joyful songs what he has done. 23Those who sail on the sea in ships, who do business on the high seas, have seen what the Lord can do, the miracles he performed in the depths of the sea. 25He spoke, and a storm began to blow, and it made the waves rise high. 26The sailors aboard ship rose toward the sky. They plunged into the depths. Their courage melted in ⌞the face of⌟ disaster.

They seem in the solitariness and grandeur of the ocean to stand more directly…Read the comment
• Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 23-32Verses 23-32 Let those who go to sea, consider and adore the Lord. Mariners have their business upon the tempestuous ocean, and there witness deliverances of which others cannot form an idea. How seasonable it is at such a time to pray! This may remind us of the terrors and distress of conscience many experience, and of those deep scenes of trouble which many pass through, in their Christian course. Yet, in answer to their cries, the Lord turns their…Read the comment
