Context of Proverbs 24:11
9Foolish scheming is sinful, and a mocker is disgusting to everyone. 10If you faint in a crisis, you are weak. Rescue captives condemned to death, and spare those staggering toward their slaughter. 12When you say, “We didn’t know this,” won’t the one who weighs hearts take note of it? Won’t the one who guards your soul know it? Won’t he pay back people for what they do? 13Eat honey, my son, because it is good. Honey that flows from the honeycomb tastes sweet.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 11If thou forbear to deliver - If thou seest the innocent taken by the hand of lawless power or superstitious zeal, and they are about to be put to death, thou shouldst rise up in their behalf, boldly plead for them, testify to their innocence when thou knowest it; and thus thou wilt not be guilty of blood; which thou wouldst be, if, through any pretense, thou shouldst neglect to save the life of a man unjustly condemned.Read the comment

The structure and meaning are both somewhat obscure; but the sentence is complete in itself, and is not a mere hypothesis concluded in the following verses.Read the comment
