Context of Leviticus 15:14
12When a man who has a discharge touches pottery, it must be broken, and any wooden bucket he touches must be rinsed. 13“When a man’s discharge stops, he must wait seven days to be cleansed. He must wash his clothes and his body in fresh water. Then he will be clean. On the eighth day he must take two mourning doves or two pigeons and come into the Lord’s presence at the entrance to the tent of meeting. He will give these birds to the priest. 15The priest will sacrifice one as an offering for sin and the other as a burnt offering. So in the Lord’s presence, the priest will make peace with the Lord for the man who had a discharge. 16“If a man has an emission of semen, he must bathe his whole body. He will be unclean until evening.

Commentaries on Leviticus 15:14
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 13-15Unlike the man with a skin disease, a man with a bodily discharge could stay at home (see Leviticus 13:46). He did not need the detailed cleansing ceremony described in chapter 14. He only had to wait seven days after the discharge stopped, wash (15:13), and offer two birds as sacrifices. One was a sin offering and the other was a whole burnt offering.Read the comment
- Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 13-1413-14. then he shall number to himself seven days for his cleansing--Like a leprous person he underwent a week's probation, to make sure he was completely healed. Then with the sacrifices prescribed, the priest made an atonement for him, that is, offered the oblations necessary for the removal of his ceremonial defilement, as well as the typical pardon of his sins.Read the comment
