Context of Job 13:22
20“Please don’t do two things to me so that I won’t have to hide from you: 21Stop oppressing me. Don’t let your terror frighten me. Then call, and I’ll answer. Otherwise, I’ll speak, and you’ll answer me. 23How many crimes and sins have I committed? Make me aware of my disobedience and my sin. 24Why do you hide your face ⌞from me⌟ and consider me your enemy?

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 22Then call thou, and I will answer - Call me to trial; summon me to make my defense. The language means, “be thou plaintiff in the case, and I will enter on my defense.” He speaks now to God not as to a judge but as a party, and is disposed to go…Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 13-22Verses 13-22 Job resolved to cleave to the testimony his own conscience gave of his uprightness. He knew himself not to be a…Read the comment
