Context of 1 Samuel 10:15
13And when he had finished prophesying, he came to the worship site. 14Saul’s uncle asked him and his servant, “Where did you go?” Saul answered, “To look for the donkeys, and when we couldn’t find them, we went to Samuel.” Saul’s uncle said, “Please tell me what Samuel said to you.” 16“He assured us the donkeys had been found,” Saul answered his uncle. But Saul didn’t tell him what Samuel said ⌞about his becoming king⌟. 17Samuel called the people to ⌞come into the presence of⌟ the Lord at Mizpah.

- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 9-16Verses 9-16 The signs Samuel had given Saul, came to pass punctually; he found that God had given him another heart, another disposition of mind. He leaves it to God to carry on his own work by Samuel, and sits still, to see how the matter will fall.Read the comment

- Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 1-271Sa 10:1-27. Samuel Anoints Saul, and Confirms Him by the Prediction of Three Signs. 1. Then Samuel took a vial of oil--This was the ancient (Jud 9:8) ceremony of investiture with the royal office among the Hebrews and other Eastern nations.
