Context of Psalms 85:11
9Yes, God will soon rescue his people who serve him. Then we will see his glory again in our land. 10God will be faithful to us and he will love us with his faithful love. His justice and his peace will join together, like dear friends. Faithful truth will grow like a plant in the ground. Justice will look down from the sky above. 12Yes! The Lord will bless us with many good things. Plenty of food will grow in our land. 13Justice will go before our God, and it will make a way for him to walk on.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 11Truth shall spring out of the earth - In consequence of this wonderful reconciliation, the truth of God shall prevail among men. The seeds of it shall be so plentifully sown by the preaching of Christ and his apostles that true religion shall be diffused over the world. - Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 11Truth shall spring out of the earth - As plants do - for this is the meaning of the word. The blessings of truth and righteousness would be like the grass, the shrubs, the flowers, which spring up from the ground - and like the, rain and the sunbeams which come from heaven. Truth would spring up everywhere, and abound in all lands, as plants, and shrubs, and grass spring up all over the earth. There is not an intended contrast between the two clauses of…Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 8-13Verses 8-13 Sooner or later, God will speak peace to his people. If he do not command outward peace, yet he will suggest inward peace; speaking to their hearts by his Spirit. Peace is spoken only to those who turn from sin. All sin is folly, especially backsliding; it is the greatest folly to return to sin. Surely God's salvation is nigh, whatever our difficulties and distresses are. Also, his honour is secured, that glory may dwell in our land. And the…Read the comment
