Context of Psalms 76:4
2His home is in Salem. Yes, he lives in Zion. 3There he destroyed all the weapons of our enemy, their arrows, their shields, and their swords. He destroyed everything that they use to fight wars. Selah. God, you are the one who shines with glory! You are greater than the greatest mountains. 5You won against brave soldiers, so that we robbed them of everything. Now they are sleeping, and they will never wake up! They are completely helpless. 6God of Jacob, when your enemies heard your battle cry, both the horses and their riders fell down dead.

Thou art more illustrious and excellent than all the mountains of prey, i.e., where wild beasts wander, and prey on those that are more helpless than themselves. - Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 4Thou art more glorious and excellent - The word rendered glorious - נאור na'ôr - is from the verb which means “to shine,” to give light, and the word would properly refer to a luminous or “shining” object - as the sun, the source of light. Hence, it means “shining,” splendid, glorious; and it is thus applied to the Divine Being with reference to his perfections, being like light. Compare 1 John 1:5. The word rendered “excellent,” means exalted, noble…Read the comment
