Context of Psalms 73:24
22I was stupid, and I did not understand you properly. I was no better than an animal. 23But I am always near to you. You hold my right hand, as my guide. You teach me the right way to go, and you will lead me to glory. 25You are the only one in heaven or on earth that I need to help me. You are the only one that I want. 26My body and my mind may become weak, but God will always keep me safe and strong.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 24Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel - After we have suffered awhile, receiving directions and consolations from thy good Spirit, by means of thy prophets, who are in the same captivity with ourselves; thou wilt grant us deliverance, restore us to our own land, and crown us with honor and happiness. Any sincere follower of God may use these words in reference to this and the coming world. Thy counsel - thy Word and Spirit, shall guide me through life; and…Read the comment
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 24Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel - With thy advice; with thy teaching. This implies two things: (a) his belief that God “would” do this, notwithstanding his folly; and (b) his purpose that God “should” be his guide now. He would no longer murmur or complain, but would entrust all to God, and allow himself to be led as God should be pleased to direct him. And afterward receive me to glory - After thou hast led me along the path of the present life in…Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 21-28Verses 21-28 God would not suffer his people to be tempted, if his grace were not sufficient, not only to save them from harm, but to make them gainers by it. This temptation, the working of envy and discontent, is very painful. In reflecting upon it, the psalmist owns it was his folly and ignorance thus to vex himself. If good men, at any time, through the surprise and strength of temptation, think, or speak, or act amiss, they will reflect upon it with…Read the comment
