Context of Psalms 59:15
13Because you are angry with them, destroy them! Destroy them completely, so that they are no more. Then everybody will know that God rules in Israel, and he rules everywhere in the earth. Selah. 14Those bad people come back to the city every evening. They go from place to place, and they cry out like dogs. They go from place to place and they look for food to eat. They will not rest until they are full. 16But I will sing to praise you. I will sing about your strength! In the morning, I will praise you for your faithful love. Because you are the strong place where I can hide. When I am in trouble, you keep me safe. 17You are the one who gives me strength. I will sing songs to praise you. You, God, are my strong, safe place. You are the God who loves me with a faithful love.

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 15Let them wander up and down for meat - Let them be like dogs that wander about for food, and find none. The idea is, that they would not find him, and would be then as dogs that had sought in vain for food. And grudge if they be not satisfied - Margin, If they be not satisfied, then they will stay all night. The marginal reading is most in accordance with the Hebrew. The sentence is obscure, but the idea seems to be that they would not be satisfied - that…Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 8-17Verses 8-17 It is our wisdom and duty, in times of danger and difficulty, to wait upon God; for he is our defence, in whom we shall be safe. It is very comfortable to us, in prayer, to look to God as the God of our mercy, the Author of all good in us, and the Giver of all good to us. The wicked can never be satisfied, which is the greatest misery in a poor condition. A contented man, if he has not what he would have, yet he does not quarrel with…Read the comment
