Context of Psalms 35:10
8Surprise my enemies and destroy them! Let their own traps catch them! Let them fall to their own death! 9Then I will be happy because of what the Lord has done. I will be happy because he has made me safe. I will shout with all my strength, ‘Lord, who is like you? When strong people try to hurt weak people, you are the one who keeps the weak people safe. You also keep poor people safe when robbers try to take things from them.’ 11Cruel people tell lies against me in court. I do not even know what they are talking about. 12When I do good things to help them, they pay me back with evil things! That makes me feel very sad and upset.

Commentaries on Psalms 35:10
- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 10All my bones shall say - My life being preserved, all the members of my body shall magnify thy saving mercy. Deliverest the poor - This is a general maxim: God is peculiarly mindful of the poor. Where secular advantages are withheld, there is the more need for spiritual help. God considers this, and his kind providence works accordingly.Read the comment
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 10All my bones shall say - A similar expression occurs in Psalm 51:8: “That the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.” The “bones” are here put for the frame; the whole man. See the notes at Psalm 32:3. The idea is, that he had been crushed and overborne with trouble and danger, so that his very frame - that which sustained him - had given way. He says now that if God would interpose in the manner which he prays for, he would be relieved of the…Read the comment
