6We should praise the Lord! He has been kind to me, when I called to him for help. 7The Lord makes me strong. He keeps me safe like a shield. I trust in him completely, and he has helped me. I am very happy, and I will thank him with my songs. The Lord makes his people strong. He protects the king that he has chosen. The Lord keeps him safe. 9Lord, save your people! - Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 8The Lord is their strength - Instead of למו lamo, to them, eight MSS. of Kennicott and De Rossi have לעמו leammo to his people; and this reading is confirmed by the Septuagint, Syriac, Vulgate, Ethiopic, Arabic, and Anglo-Saxon. This makes the passage more precise and intelligible; and of the truth of the reading there can be no reasonable doubt. "The Lord is the strength of his People, and the saving strength of his anointed." Both king and people are…Read the comment

The saints rejoice in others' comfort as well as their own: we have the less benefit from the light of the sun…Read the comment
