Context of Psalms 148:7
5They should all praise the name of the Lord. It was his command that created them. 6He has fixed them in their places for all time. Nothing can change the command that he has given. Praise the Lord from the earth! Praise him, sea monsters and all the deep seas. 8Praise him, fire and hail, snow and clouds. Praise him, wind and storm, as you obey his commands. 9Praise him, mountains and all hills. Praise him fruit trees and all trees in the forests.

Ye dragons - On the meaning of this word, see Psalm 91:13, note; Isaiah 13:22, note. The word may mean a great fish, a whale, a sea monster, or a serpent. It would seem to refer here to whales and sea monsters. See the notes at Revelation 12:3. And all deeps - All that are in the depths of the sea. Not…Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 7-14Verses 7-14 Even in this world, dark and bad as it is, God is praised. View the surface of the earth, mountains and all hills; from the barren tops of some, and the fruitful tops of others, we may fetch matter for praise. And assuredly…Read the comment
