Context of Psalms 104:10
8The water poured down from the mountains, and it went down into the valleys. It went to stay in the place that you had chosen for it. 9You made a border for the water so that it could not cross. Never again will the water cover the earth. You cause springs of water to pour along the valleys. Streams of water run between the hills. 11They give water to all the wild animals. Wild donkeys drink from them. 12The birds make their homes beside the streams. They sing from the branches of the trees.

There is just as much aqueous surface as affords a sufficiency of vapours to be raised by the solar attraction to water the earthy surface. Experiments have been instituted which…Read the comment
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 10He sendeth the springs into the valleys - Though the waters are gathered together into seas, yet God has taken care that the earth shall not be dry, parched, and barren. It is now animated nature which comes before the eye of the psalmist; and all this he traces to the fact that the earth is “watered,”…Read the comment

- Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 10-1310-13. Once destructive, these waters are subjected to the service of God's creatures. In rain and dew from His chambers (compare Psa 104:3), and fountains and streams, they give drink to thirsting animals and fertilize the soil. Trees thus nourished supply homes to singing birds, and the earth teems with the productions of God's wise agencies,Read the comment
