Context of Joshua 19:10
8This included all the villages near them as far as Baalath Beer (also called Ramah, in the Negev). That was the land that Joshua gave to the families of Simeon's tribe. 9Because Judah had received more land than they needed, Joshua took some of their land for Simeon. So Simeon's tribe lived inside the land that Joshua had given to Judah. The next part of the land was for Zebulun's tribe, clan by clan. The border of their land went as far as Sarid. 11Then it went west to Maralah, it touched Dabbesheth, and it went to the valley near Jokneam. 12From Sarid their border went east to the land of Kisloth Tabor. Then it went to Daberath and it continued up to Japhia.

Commentaries on Joshua 19:10
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 10Sarid, not yet identified, was evidently a leading topographical point on the south frontier of Zebulun. The boundary passed westward until it touched the Kishon, near “Tell Kaimon” (Joshua 12:22 note), and thence, turned northward, leaving Carmel, which belonged to Asher, on its west. The territory of Zebulun accordingly would not anywhere reach to the Mediterranean, though its eastern side abutted on the sea of Galilee, and gave the tribe those…Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 10-16Verses 10-16 In the division to each tribe of Israel, the prophetic blessings of Jacob were fulfilled. They chose for themselves, or it was divided to them by lot, in the manner and places that he foresaw. So sure a rule to go by is the word of prophecy: we see by it what to believe, and it proves beyond all dispute the things that are of God.Read the comment

- Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 10-1610-14. the third lot came up for the children of Zebulun--The boundaries of the possession assigned to them extended from the Lake of Chinnereth (Sea of Galilee) on the east, to the Mediterranean on the west. Although they do not seem at first to have touched on the western shore--a part of Manasseh running north into Asher (Jos 17:10)--they afterwards did, according to the prediction of Moses (De 33:19). The extent from north to south cannot be very…Read the comment
