Context of Daniel 6:28
26I have made a law for every part of my kingdom. All people must respect the God that Daniel serves. They must respect him with fear. He is the God who always lives. He will continue for ever. Nobody will ever destroy his kingdom. He will rule for ever. 27He rescues his people and he keeps them safe. He does powerful miracles in the heavens and on the earth. He has saved Daniel from the lions' power!’ So Daniel continued to have authority while Darius was king, and also when Cyrus from Persia became king.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 28So this Daniel prospered - He had served fine kings: Nebuchadnezzar, Evil-merodach, Belshazzar, Darius, and Cyrus. Few courtiers have had so long a reign, served so many masters without flattering any, been more successful in their management of public affairs, been so useful to the states where they were in office, or have been more owned of God, or have left such an example to posterity. Where shall we find ministers like Samuel and Daniel? None so…Read the comment

How long during the reign of Cyrus Daniel “prospered” or lived is not said. During a part of the reign of Darius or Cyaxares, he was occupied busily in securing by…Read the comment

The kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever, are the Lord's; but many are employed in making known his wonderful works to others, who themselves remain strangers to his saving grace. May we be doers, as well as believers of his word, least at the last we should be found to have deceived ourselves.Read the comment
