Context of Joshua 6:2

1Now Jericho was shut up and was barred, because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in. And Jehovah said to Joshua, See, I have given into thy hand Jericho, and the king thereof, [and] the valiant men. 3And ye shall go round the city, all the men of war, encompassing the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days. 4And seven priests shall carry before the ark seven blast-trumpets; and on the seventh day ye shall go round the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets.
